September 1 - Mace Francis Performs in Finals for Prestigious Jazz Fellowship

WAYJO's Artisic Director, Mace Francis, was one of four finalists nominated for the 2010 Freedman Fellowship who performed at the Sydney Opera House earlier this month.  While Mace was unsuccessful in winning the Fellowship, he said that the experience was incredible. September 1 - Young WA Jazz Composer's Recording to go Global in new Composition Award

WA Youth Jazz Orchestra double bass player Robin Murray, has been awarded the inaugural Jazzaziz Composition Prize, announced by JAZZ WA General Manager, Robert Buratti, today.  The Jazzaziz Composition Prize is the result of a collaboration between JAZZ WA, one of the state's peak jazz promotion bodies, and WAYJO, to provide recording opportunities for young and emerging composers. April 15 - Elliott Hughes on the Road to Fame

This month, twenty-two year-old WAYJO trumpet player Elliott Hughes was awarded a prestigious JUMP Mentorship - Australia's largest mentoring program supporting the career development of young and emerging artists.
