Roger Garrood - Musical Director - Swing Band
Roger Garrood started his musical training in the
1950's whilst in the British military and he has been playing jazz ever since.
Whilst working as a professional musician on P&O cruise ships he made
several trips to Australia and, liking the lifestyle, decided to settle in Perth

Tilman
Robinson -
Assistant Musical Director
A one-year training position, the role of Assistant Musical
Director aims to provide experience in leading a big band, choosing repertoire,
rehearsing techniques and performance management. After beginning university studies as a Classical Music major,
Tilman's passion for jazz and improvised music led him to pursue jazz studies at
the West Australian Academy for Performing Arts (WAAPA) graduating in 2009 with
a Bachelor of Music with Honours (Composition and Arranging) studying under
Graeme Lyall AM and Mace Francis. Tilman's diverse
musical interests keep him busy as a performer and composer in many groups
including the Mace Francis Orchestra, the Johannes Luebbers Dectet, salsa group
Sabroson, traditional jazz band The Hounds and hip hop outfit The Typhoons. As
composer, Tilman presented a concert of his own compositions in the Jazz Windows
